MCY Award
The MCY Award aims to recognize, appreciate and boost motivation of researchers, innovators and local technology entrepreneurs who successfully increase competitiveness in the local and international markets. A Screening Evaluation Session will be conducted by appointed panelists to shortlist the nominees of MCY Special KPI products/technologies/services for the Final Evaluation process. The final stage for the selection of winners is through a pitching session. The MCY Awards are divided into six types of award categories, namely an Overall Award (Supreme Award) and five awards according to the following categories:
- Supreme Award
- Commercial Deal Award
- Research Entrepreneur Award
- Research & Business Partnership Award
- Emerging Innovator Award
- Social Entrepreneur Award
The Due Diligence workshop will determine the products/technologies/services that meet the MCY Special KPI criteria. MCY Special KPI products/technologies/services that have a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 5 and above are eligible to be listed as MCY Award candidates.
Nominated products/technologies/services from Due Diligence Workshop will undergo the following processes to select the MCY Award Winner:
i. Screening Session
Award evaluation will begin with the submission of the Product Evaluation Questionnaire (PEQ) Form to obtain information related to the nominated products/technologies/service. In the Screening Evaluation Session, the appointed panels will shortlist MCY Special KPI products/technologies/services the Final Evaluation process.
ii. Coaching for Pitching Program
Coaching for Pitching sessions are held to coach the MCY Award finalists on the techniques, honing skills and building confidence for effective pitching.
iii. Final Evaluation Session (Pitching)
The final stage for the selection of winners is through pitching session with the appointed panels.
MCY awards are divided into six categories; 1 Supreme Award and 5 Awards from categories as follows:
- Supreme Award;
- Commercial Deal Award;
- Research Entrepreneur Award;
- Research and Business Partnership Award;
- Emerging Innovator Award; and
- Social Entrepreneur Award.
